If you’re still looking for the perfect gift – or you’ve run out of time to find the perfect gift – I have come to your rescue! This salt scrub is inexpensive, all of the ingredients can be found at your local grocery store and it can be made in less than 15 minutes!

Not only does it smell and look delicious (although it is salt, so I don’t recommend tasting it), it also makes your skin super smooth and soft! And don’t get me started on the benefits of chocolate! Who knows or cares if the anti-oxidants make it into the skin; just the act of rubbing chocolate all over the body is blissful!
This recipe can be adapted for other flavors and scents too! Try old coffee grinds, different carrier oils and essential oils – the combinations are literally endless!
Here’s what I used –
- 2 cups epsom salts
- 1 cup coconut oil
- 1 tbs almond oil
- 1/2 cup cacao powder
- 6-12 drops orange essential oil
Because this is going ON my body, I sourced really clean ingredients – organic carrier and essential oils. The body absorbs most of what we put on it, as well as inside it, so keep it clean, folks!

In a mixing bowl, mix all ingredients together to form a paste. Transfer mixture to a wide-mouth jar with a flip-top lid or a mason jar! Dress up with a ribbon, dried orange slice (pop thinly sliced oranges on a sheet pan in a 200 degree oven for about 1 hour) or a BOOM! Valentine’s Day is a win! And this scrub will last a lot longer than a bouquet of flowers…
